Pre-Kindergarten Applications 2016-2017
The Pre-K application period for the 2016-2017 school year will be open between January 25 and March 4, 2016. All NYC families with children born in 2012 are eligible to apply to pre-K. Offer letters will be distributed in early May 2016.
Families may complete the pre-K application for district schools, Pre-K Centers, and full-day NYC Early Education Centers (NYCEECs) in one of three ways:
Over the phone by calling 718-935-2067.
In person, at a Family Welcome Center. The closest Welcome Center is at 333 7th Avenue at 28th Street.
The online application is available in ten languages. Interpretation services will be provided in over 200 languages for applications submitted over the phone and in person. Families wishing to apply to half-day or 5-hour NYCEECs, or charter schools must contact those programs directly.
A list of available programs will be provided in the Pre-K Directory, which is accessible on the pre-K website in ten languages. Printed copies of the Directory will be available at district schools, NYCEECs, Family Welcome Centers, libraries, and other community centers. Distribution of the printed Pre-K Directory will begin today.
Please note that information in the Pre-K Directory is subject to change. For the most up-to-date information, families are encouraged to use Pre-K Finder online.
Additional information and details about pre-K admissions will be provided to school staff in January. Please email ESEnrollment@schools.nyc.gov with any questions.
